Skylight & UV Filters
These filters will help protect your camera lens from dust and from impact. The Skylight Filter will also enhance skin tones, so this is good for Colour Photography. If you mostly work in B&W a UV Filter is best.

Standard Series
Hoya Standard Series Filters are made from quality optical glass and have
been coated to help reduce reflections. Consider investing in HMC or HMC
Super as the MULTICOATING on those filters can improve your pictures!
HMC Series
HMC Filters are made with 3-coatings for reduced flare and are much better
than the standard monocoated filters. Flare is less prevalent and pictures
taken against the light are better. HMC Filters allow for 97% Light
Transmission.
SUPER HMC Series
Super HMC Filters are the ultimate filters for use under difficult shooting
conditions. HMC Super Filters have 12 Coatings for the ultimate in Light
Transmission, 99.7% These Filters are much better than normal filters and
can improve your pictures substantially!
PRO 1 Series
PRO 1 Filters are also coated 12 times for superior performance. Because
these filters are made from 1mm tempered optical glass they are slimmer and
better suited for wide angle lenses, multi filter use, etc. They are also
lighter!
Ultra Series
Ultra Thin UV/Pol-Circular Filters are ideal for use with very wide angle
lenses. I use a such filter with a 12mm lens and can describe this filter
with one word: SUPERB!
